Description
Abstract
This is an oceanfront shoreline for the entire coast of North Carolina. At the time of this study (2003), these data were considered most consistent and best available. It represents a historic location of a shoreline segment derived from NOS T-Sheets ranging in dates from 1933 to 1952. The majority of these data were derived from vectorized National Ocean Survey Topographic Survey Maps (NOS T-Sheets); however, at the time of this study these were not available for the most northern region of the North Carolina's coast. As a result, this particular segment of the shoreline was derived from "early" aerial photography (see 1940 to 1962 oceanfront shoreline).

Purpose
For use in determining long-term average annual erosion rates
